Encouragement in words of strong correction

1 Corinthians 6:9-11

NASB

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God

Praise God forevermore for washing us in His precious blood and making us new creations in Christ!

To Rise above the Storm… is to Find that Perfect Peace

Worthy thoughts – thank you, Elizabeth!

A few days ago I left someone to the airport, where she was to fly off to Northern Italy to start a new job. Her flight had been changed at the last minute to an earlier day, which was perhaps just as well as the very next day a fierce storm blew up here in Ireland, causing mayhem and cancelled flights. And I have been going through another type of storm in my life, which involved being a support to someone else for long hours in an oncology unit….

On the morning of the storm I looked out to see a fallen tree near the entrance to our home. Traffic on the little country road can be heavy enough sometimes and drivers daunted by the tree in their path, kept reversing into our driveway and turning around to take an alternative route. Just one storm can cost lives, devastation to…

Simply Trusting Christ

Blessed, simple, saving reality!

He Hath Said

He that believeth on Him is not condemned… -John 3:18

This is the first way of salvation-simply trusting and looking up to Christ for everything. But, then, we did trust. There is a difference between knowing about trust and trusting. By God’s Holy Spirit, we were not left merely to talk about faith, nor to think about it, but we did believe. If the Government were to announce that there would be ten thousand acres of land in New Zealand given to a settler, I can imagine two men believing it. One believes it and forgets it; the other believes it and takes his passage to go out and get the land. Now the first kind of faith saves nobody; but the second faith, the practical faith, is that which, for the sake of seeking Christ, gives up the sins of this life, the pleasures of it-I mean the…

Psalm 150

New King James Version

Let All Things Praise the Lord

150 Praise the Lord!

Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty firmament!

Praise Him for His mighty acts;
Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!

Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet;
Praise Him with the lute and harp!
Praise Him with the timbrel and dance;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!
Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with clashing cymbals!

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord!

Be of good cheer, dearest friend,

When we trust in Christ,

our afflictions all will end.

His promise is ever true,

and meant for me and you,

Our God Who cannot lie

will deliver us in His time!
